During Uit in Huis, Leeuwarden turns into one big discovery tour—the open house of art and culture. Organizations across the city open their doors and invite you to watch, listen, create, experience, and, most importantly, participate. Whether you love going to performances, want to get creative yourself, are curious about a museum, or are looking for a new hobby, you’ll discover it all during Uit in Huis. And you know the best part? It’s completely free!
With dozens of activities organized by cultural groups throughout the city, there is something for everyone. Get to know everything culture has to offer. From music and theater to dance, visual arts, literature, and film. There is something to experience all over the city. No experience is necessary, but curiosity is.
Explore by canal boat or American school bus
Explore Leeuwarden on foot, by bike, by canal boat, or by bus. You can hop on for free at four locations across the city for a canal boat trip to discover Leeuwarden from the water. Or choose the cheerful American school bus, which will take you from Wilhelminaplein to the Frisian Agricultural Museum. You can ride as often as you like!
