During Uit in Huis, you can sample two edible artworks at Kunstruimte H47. Inspired by cherished memories of Vietnamese family gatherings, artist Đăng-Vũ Đặng presents an interactive art and cooking workshop: Consuming Love and Violence. Together, you will slice into the artwork, taste various symbolic flavors, and engage in conversation with the artist and each other.

What memories and stories do these flavors evoke for you? And what are the sculptures actually made of? In this unique workshop, you will taste how history, identity, and personal stories are woven into every bite.

This workshop is part of Minor Feelings: an exhibition about diaspora, memory, and reclaiming Asian identity. Curated by artist An Ye Zhi de Jong, this exhibition brings together work by Đăng-Vũ Đặng, Honey Brich, Linhuei Chen, and herself. From various perspectives, they explore themes such as diaspora, adoption, identity, memory, and connection.

You are welcome to drop by at any time to join the workshop or view the exhibition.

An Ye Zhi de Jong created this exhibition at the invitation of Kunstinitiatief VHDG, an organization dedicated to the presentation and development of contemporary art in Leeuwarden. It is made possible in part by De Noordenaars, a platform for presentation institutions and art initiatives in the Northern Netherlands.
